About The Analyst
Lisema holds a master’s degree in Development Finance obtained from University of Cape Towns (UCT) Graduate School of Business (GSB). He is passionate about this and is founding member of CIDEF South Africa chapter and has reached out to Nedbank Foundation to see how could Nedbank’s “transformational” CSI strategy be the catalyst to change the existing paradigms around the commercial potential of a systemic transformation agenda. He has over fourteen years’ experience in banking where he obtained extensive experience in innovative reporting or better decision support system and currently is a senior analyst in Nedbank. He has spent seventeen years in tertiary education to further his Finance, Information Technology, and Management development/training.KR methodology.
Lisema has been responsible for Group Technology (GT) Finance reporting sub-function and spent six years implementing financial intelligence reporting as part of GT Finance strategy to use Power BI instead of MS Excel for financial reporting and budgeting. This strategy required him to champion and lead financial officers to create from scratch a finance SQL data warehouse to be used by financial officers to save budgets (Q2, Q3, 3YP, and Rolling Forecast) by a single click of the VBA coded button. Submitted financials ware then merged with financials on SAP to create a new reporting platform using business intelligence tool – Power BI. This has saved budgeting turnaround time and allowed divisional executives (Divco) access to live financial reporting which was new to the business. His divisional finance reports ranked position 9 out of over 11 000 published reports in Nedbank based on usage. Over 300 managers (Divco, Exco and Manco) were granted access to this reports using RLS/security to ensure confidentiality in collaboration. This initiative won him a Nedbank Achiever of the year award. He used the success in financial reporting now as a senior strategy analyst in Retail Banking to streamline reporting from strategy map to execution and reporting using OKR methodology.
